Title: Fire Sprinkler Fitter (Apprentice)

Type: Permanent (Full Time), 40 hours per week

Salary: CAD$25 – CAD$42

Description –

Fire Sprinkler Fitter cum Apprentice lay out, install, repair, maintain, modify and test fire protection systems in a variety of buildings and settings. They work on various types of fire protection systems, including but not limited with wet, dry and stand pipe.

Duties and responsibilities –

● Assisting crew for the overall blaze and steel works for residential as well as for

commercial buildings.

● Read drawings and determine layout.

● Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and

fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools

● Measure, cut, ream and thread pipe, install sprinkler heads and mount prepared

pipe in supports

● Join pipes and piping sections using soldering

● Connect piping system to water mains, supply tanks and control equipment

● Installs valves, alarms and associated equipment

● Test system for leaks using pressure equipment

● Train and Supervise other workers

Experience required- Less than 1 Year

Education required- Secondary School or equivalent

Language English or French required – No
