Overview

We are looking for a caring and responsible Home Support Worker to provide assistance to an 84-year-old senior male in our home.

Position details

Wage: $25/hour
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (permanent, full-time)
Location: Vancouver, BC
Start date: As soon as possible
Benefit: 2 weeks of vacation time per year

Job Description

Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary needs.
Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed.
Provide companionship and emotional support through conversation and activities.
Accompany the senior to medical appointments and community outings as needed.
Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying, and maintaining a safe environment.
Observe and promptly report any changes in health or behavior to family members.

Requirements

Previous experience in elderly or home support care is preferred.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting seniors.
Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and respectful home environment.
Strong communication (in English) and reliability, with references available upon request.
