Position: Food preparer

Job description:

-Prepare ingredients by cleaning, peeling, slicing, and trimming frog, seafood, de-shell crab & shrimps for the main kitchen to cook when required.
-Storing the seafood and frogs properly, ensuring food hygiene and safety.
-Transfer ingredients and vegetables to the processing area to prepare for processing.
-Control ingredients and spices to avoid waste. Refill refrigerators and salad bars as needed and maintain records of food consumption quantities.
-Check merchandise and recommend ordering additional items.
-Carry out the process of preserving raw materials, goods, and spices in accordance with the restaurant’s instructions.
-Maintain hygiene and sanitation in the work area during working hours.
-Implement occupational safety and hygiene and fire prevention according to regulations of the restaurant.
-Prepare beverages for serving to clients.
-Divide, arrange, and package food for serving to customers or for take-out orders.
-Use equipment and tools properly and according to instructions.
-Clean and store tools in the correct place after finishing work.
-Check and prepare necessary items for sale during the day.
-Check the sauce and seasoning counter and add more if necessary.
-Serve customers at counters or buffet if required.

Requirements:

Completion of high school.
Experience: Candidates must have a combined minimum of 2 years of experience, including at least 1 year as a food preparer in a high-volume environment, and an additional year of experience specifically working with Asian cuisine ingredients in food preparing.
Experience in peeling & deshelling seafood
Standing for extended periods.
Physically demanding.
Fast-paced environment.
Handling heavy loads.
Work under pressure.
Agile.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to understand instructions in English

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Full-time position: 30 hours/week
Expected start date: As soon as possible.
Wage: $17.85 per hour
Vacation: 10 days of paid vacation per year
Work Location: In-person at 2052 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC V5N 2T3

Schedule:
Will be required to work, early mornings and late nights.
Might be required to work Straight Shifts, Split shifts
Might be required to work weekdays, weekends
Overtime might be required
