Ocean Rain International Daycare is seeking an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) for its Victoria location.

Ocean Rain International Daycare is a centre which offers a variety of childcare programs, including infant/toddler daycare, daycare for 3 to 5 year olds, morning preschool, after-school care, day camps, and many performing art classes/workshops.

Permanent, Full-time; 35-40 hours per week. $36.60 per hour. Shifts could be scheduled anytime between 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

·      Develop and implement childcare programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children

·      Lead activities such as storytelling, reading, singing songs, and creative play

·      Provide opportunities for children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activities

·      Plan and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment

·      Assess children’s abilities, interests, and needs and discuss progress with parents and colleagues

·      Observe children for signs of learning or behavioural issues and prepare reports when necessary

·      Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toileting habits

·      Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers

·      Supervise and coordinate activities of ECE assistants when necessary

 

Requirements:

·      Completion of an early childhood education certificate program is required;

·      Possession of a valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate is required;

·      ECE-IT or ECE-SN certification is an asset;

·      Must have a valid First Aid and CPR Certificate;

·      Criminal Record Check Clearance is required;

·      Minimum two professional references is required;

·      English language ability is required.
