Overview
On Time Service Corp. is a Watchmaker to join the team at their Burnaby location.
Permanent, full-time; $62,400 – $70,000 (depending on experience) per year; 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week.
Benefits include: Extended health, dental, and vision after a 3 month probation period; on-site parking. A bonus is available depending on performance.
Duties:
· Examine watches, and disassemble and check for defective and misaligned parts or rust;
· Analyze and take decisions to define proper methodology to repair the movement;
· Dismantle movement, replace/fix broken parts, clean, reassemble, correct lubrication and rate check and adjust watches as required;
· Fabricate parts when necessary due to unavailability of original parts;
· Use or develop adequate tools or processes to correct issues that can arise during the repair process;
· Clean and polish watch cases to like-new condition;
· Make sure all required services for the customer have been carried and the watch is ready for wearing;
· Work as a team player with other watchmakers to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
· At least one of the following must be demonstrated:
o A diploma from a recognized Watchmaker program.
o A Watchmaker Certification from a Swiss brand like Cartier, Breitling or Chopard
o Watchmaking apprenticeship or Basic Certificate in Watch Repair from AWCI or similar.
o Completion of a watchmaking apprenticeship with satisfactory results.
o Demonstrated specialist knowledge of complicated movements or completion with satisfactory results of a post-apprenticeship course, such as WOSTEP (Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Education Programme).
o Minimum 1 year of previous watchmaker experience, working on luxury watch brands, new and pre-owned timepieces.
· English language ability is required;
· Previous experience working as part of a team and with clients are assets.
