Health Care Assistant

ILAPOGU INVESTMENTS INC DBA Oriole Lodge Family Care Home located in Abbotsford, BC is looking for 4 Health Care Assistant to join our team as soon as possible.

Oriole Lodge is a long-term care facility in Abbotsford, BC, that offers professional nursing care and support, Psychosocial Rehabilitation program focusing on mental health and drug addicts for the purpose of integrating the successful client into community for semi-independent and independent living. Serving young Adults between 19 and 35 years age., with services including 24-hour care, meals, and recreational activities. The home is licensed and regulated by the Fraser Health Authority and is owned by Ilapogu Investments Inc..

Job Description

·         Respond to residents’ call bells and provide prompt assistance.

·         Support residents with personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

·         Help residents move safely, including lifting, transferring, and repositioning.

·         Serve meals, assist with menu choices, and help with eating and drinking when required.

·         Administer first aid in emergency situations

·         Administer medications

·         Accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort

·         Monitor and record residents’ vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure) and overall wellbeing.

·         Keep daily care notes updated, including food and fluid intake.

·         Encourage and assist residents with light exercise and mobility.

·         Organize or support social and recreational activities to promote wellbeing.

·         Escort residents to appointments or outings

·         Escort patients to treatments, tests, or surgeries using stretchers or wheelchairs

·         Maintain cleanliness of residents’ rooms and change bedding regularly.

·         Restock and keep track of care supplies.

·         Ensure safe use, cleaning, and setup of equipment.

·         Provide comfort, companionship, and emotional support to residents.

·         Supply and empty bed pans

Job Requirement

• Secondary School education is required.

On Job Training will be provided.

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Eligible for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.

• First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.

Salary: $29.60/Hour (40 hours/ Week)
