Ocean Rain International Daycare Center Inc. in Victoria, B.C., is looking for one (1) Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) to join their team.

Permanent, full-time; $21.50 per hour; 30-40 hours per week. Benefits include: Annual bonus is available for based on the performance assessment, eligibility for 2 paid Pro-D days in August each year and 10% discount childcare programs, 15 days paid vacation.

Duties:

 

·       Assist the development and implementation of child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children;

·       Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest;

·       Provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity;

·       Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits;

·       Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor;

·       Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members;

·       Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers.

 

Qualifications:

 

·       Completion of Early Childhood Educator Certificate program which allows practice in BC is required;

·       Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) Certificate in B.C. is required;

·       Criminal Record Check is required;

·       English Language ability is required.
