Title of Position: Carpet Installer

Terms of employment: Full time; Permanent Position

Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Salary: $26.92/hour

Duties:

Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered;
Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding;
Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors;
Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications;
Prepare flooring plans and scheduling;
Prepare floors for installations;
Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants;
Install materials on countertops and raised platforms;
Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces;
Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting;
Perform direct glue-down carpet installations;
Perform double-bond carpet installations; and
Install outdoor carpets.
Education Required: High School graduation;

Language: Must be able to communicate in English

Work Experience: At least 2 of relevant experience

Location of work: 1100, 5001 – 19 Street, Red Deer, AB T4R 3R1 (main office – work to be done at client sites)

Work Setting: Residential and commercial settings
