Overview

Rigel Marine Service Inc. is located in Richmond BC and is looking to hire an electrical engineer as soon as possible.

Duties:

·         Conduct feasibility, design operation and performance research of electrical generation and distribution networks

·         Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, testing, and operation of shipboard electrical and electronic systems, ensuring adherence to international standards such as IMO, SOLAS, and ABS.​

·         Develop maintenance and operating standards; investigate and resolve electrical or electronic failures to ensure continuous vessel operations.

·         Prepare material cost and timing estimates, reports, and specifications for electrical systems; evaluate tenders and oversee project execution from planning through delivery.​

·         Prepare contract documents, technical reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation to support operational readiness and regulatory requirements.​

·         Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers; coordinate with marine surveyors, port authorities, and classification societies to ensure project milestones are met.​

·         Ensure all electrical installations comply with Canadian and international maritime electrical safety standards and regulations.​

Requirement:

Language: English
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Salary: $52.88 per hour for 30 hours per week.
