Position: Financial Service Representative (Small Business Associate)

Work hours: 37.5 hours per week (Full time, Permanent)

Wage: $36.40 per hour ($71,000 Annually)

Location: 1-405 North Road, Coquitlam, BC V3K 3V9 Sharons Credit Union

Sharons Credit Union is a financial institution based in British Columbia, Canada, founded by the Korean community in 1989. It provides personal and business banking services, including loans and mortgages, with a strong commitment to serving members and supporting the community. We are looking for a dedicated Financial Services Representative -Small Business Associate- to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of business lending practices, outstanding communication skills, and a passion for helping entrepreneurs succeed. This role is pivotal in providing financial advice, fostering member relationships, and supporting the growth of small businesses in our community.

 

+Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.

– Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial industry or small business lending or financial advisory roles.

– Strong understanding of financial statements and financial ratio analysis, credit risk assessment, and loan structuring.

– CSC (Canadian Securities Course), Business Lending Course, and Business Financial Statement Analysis Course completion or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

– Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

– English is required and proficiency in Korean is considered an asset.

 

+Main duties:

– Build and maintain relationships with small business members by responding to inquiries and providing information on commercial lending products and processes

– Support Commercial Account Managers with loan application preparation, credit submissions, renewals, and annual reviews by gathering financial and business information

– Process commercial loan applications and maintain accurate loan documentation, reports, and system records in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements

– Collaborate with internal teams to deliver efficient lending service and ensure a positive member experience

– Monitor outstanding and delinquent accounts and assist with collection and recovery activities in accordance with established procedures

– Maintain loan files and support internal and external audits by ensuring ongoing documentation accuracy and compliance

– Provide operational support and guidance to staff and perform other administrative duties as assigned
