Retail Store Supervisor – Boutique Apparel Retail

Spank Clothing & Accessories Inc. is hiring a Retail Store Supervisor to supervise daily retail floor activities, support sales staff, maintain inventory flow, and assist the Owner / Director with merchandising, customer service, stock control, and supplier coordination for our boutique clothing store.

We are looking for someone with practical retail supervisory experience, strong customer service ability, and a good sense of apparel merchandising and inventory coordination. The role will focus primarily on store-floor supervision and customer-facing retail operations, while also supporting product ordering, supplier follow-up, and sourcing research as directed by management.

Role Summary
The successful candidate will supervise and coordinate sales staff, help maintain store presentation and customer service standards, support scheduling and training, monitor inventory and stock movement, and prepare basic sales, merchandising and inventory information for management review. The role will also assist with routine merchandise ordering and supplier coordination, including gathering product information, quotations, samples, availability and delivery timelines from approved or potential suppliers for the Owner / Director’s review.

Key Duties

• Supervise and coordinate sales staff and daily retail floor activities
• Assign duties to sales staff and assist with preparing weekly work schedules
• Support onboarding, training, coaching and performance monitoring of sales staff
• Perform opening and closing activities and support daily store operations
• Monitor customer service standards and assist with customer requests, complaints, returns and exchanges
• Maintain merchandising standards, visual presentation, signage, cleanliness and seasonal product displays
• Monitor stock movement, maintain inventory records, carry out cycle counts and identify stock shortages
• Order routine merchandise from approved suppliers according to store needs and management direction
• Assist with supplier communication and product sourcing research, including gathering product information, quotations, samples, availability and delivery timelines from local or overseas suppliers as directed by the Owner / Director
• Follow up with suppliers, couriers and delivery contacts regarding order status, shipment timing and stock issues
• Prepare basic reports on sales volumes, merchandising, inventory and personnel matters
• Assist with online order handling, product listing support and customer follow-up as required
• May perform the same duties as sales staff when needed during busy store periods

Qualifications

• Experience in retail supervision, retail team coordination, or progressively responsible retail operations roles
• Experience in boutique, apparel, fashion, lifestyle, or specialty retail preferred
• Strong customer service, communication and team support skills
• Familiarity with merchandising, inventory control, stock ordering and POS systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing retail environment
• Ability to follow management direction and prepare clear sales, inventory and supplier follow-up information
• English required

Preferred Assets

• Good sense of apparel merchandising, product presentation and seasonal assortment support
• Experience with supplier coordination, routine ordering, product sourcing support, or inventory follow-up
• Familiarity with internationally sourced apparel products is an asset
• Experience with product posting, online retail support, or digital merchandising is an asset
• Additional language ability is an asset, but not required
• Career-minded candidates who are adaptable and receptive to on-the-job training are preferred

Employment Details

• Wage: $27.50 hourly
• Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week
• Terms: Full-time, permanent
