We are seeking a skilled Welder-Assembler to join our manufacturing team at State Window Corporation. This role is essential to our production operations, focusing on interpreting welding specifications, operating various welding equipment, and ensuring high-quality fabrication of metal components. The successful candidate will contribute directly to our manufacturing excellence and product quality standards.

JOB DETAILS

Job Title: Welder-Assembler
Number of Vacancies: 1 Position Available
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Position
Work Schedule: 44 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Work Location: On-site at 220 Hunters Valley Road, Woodbridge, ON L4H 3V9 (no remote work option)
Language of Work: English or French
Hourly Wage: $28.50 – $32.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

·      Interpret welding process specifications and technical documentation

·      Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment

·      Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes

·      Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications

·      Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment

·      Utilize Computer-aided design (CAD) systems

·      Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines

·      Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal components

·      Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)

·      Determine weldability of materials for optimal results

·      Operate hoisting and lifting equipment safely

·      Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products

·      Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations and seams

·      Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line

·      Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
    Required Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of welding experience

Specialized Skills Required:

  • Welding Techniques: Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG) and Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
    Physical Requirements: Ability to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
