Overview

Hiring a Head Sushi Chef

 

Qualification:

– Completion of Secondary School is required.

– Several years (2 – 3 years) of professional culinary experience as a cook or chef is required.

– Able to work flexible schedule including weekend, evening, and holiday shifts.

– English is required for this position.

 

Main duties:

– Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of restaurant.

– Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.

– Create new recipes and demonstrate new cooking techniques to the cooking staff.

– Estimate food requirements and estimate food and labour costs.

– Supervise activities of cooks and other kitchen staff.

– Recruit and hire kitchen staff.

– Cook special dishes.

– Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.

– Analyze operating cost and other data.

 

Working hours:

30 – 40 hours per week (full-time, permanent position)

 

Wage & Benefits:

– $34.00 – 36.67 per hour

– 4% vacation pay or 10 days of paid vacation, shared gratuities, and free meal at work
