About the Role
The Doctor’s House is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Worker to support our historic venue and multi-use facilities. This is a hands-on, on-site position suited for a reliable, skilled individual with strong maintenance experience in commercial, resort, hospitality, or restaurant environments.

Responsibilities
General Maintenance & Repairs

Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris, scraps, and waste.
Empty garbage bins and waste containers as needed.
Perform minor repairs on appliances, fixtures, and building materials.
Complete routine maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, touch-ups, and general upkeep.
Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and basic electrical systems; coordinate tradespeople for major repairs.
Assist skilled tradespersons with larger maintenance projects.
Facility Operations

Move and set up heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and internal policies at all times.
Maintain cleanliness of washrooms and fixtures; disinfect high-touch areas.
Handle outdoor tasks such as watering plants, tending gardens/lawns, and removing snow/ice from walkways and parking areas.

Work Environment
On-site only; no remote option
Exposure to all weather conditions
Commercial building, resort, hotel and event venue environment
Physically demanding; ability to handle up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Requirements
Education & Experience
College/CEGEP diploma
5+ years of relevant maintenance experience
Skills & Attributes
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Physically fit; capable of handling heavy loads
Reliable, flexible, and able to work evenings/weekends
Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Additional Requirements
Must pass a Criminal Record Check
Must have own tools and safety gear
