Overview

Tomahawk Tree Services is seeking a Tree Service Supervisor to join the team in Victoria.

 

Permanent, full-time; $45.00 per hour; 40 hours per week. Work locations are across the greater Victoria region.

 

Duties:

·      Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of workers who maintain parks and other landscaped areas

·      Plan and estimate the materials and labour requirements for individual contracts

·      Organize the planting and maintenance of trees

·      Establish work schedules and procedures and co-ordinate activities with other work units

·      Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports

·      Requisition supplies and materials

·      Maintain financial and personnel records

·      Hire staff and train workers in job duties and company policies

·      May perform the same duties as workers supervised.

·      Ensures work site is clean at all times;

·      Trains the arborists in their duties;

·      Resolves customers’ concerns and requests and represents the owner when on the job site.

 

Qualifications:

 

·      Completion of secondary school is required;

·      A college diploma or university degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Forest Management or other related field OR Arborist Technician certification with completion of apprenticeship is required;

·      At least 3 years of experience as an arborist is required;

·      Previous supervisory experience is an asset;

·      Must be proficient in Spurless (DRT or SRT) and Spur climbing;

·      Possession of ISA, TRAQ, Air brake, and Advance Rigger certifications are assets;

·      Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions;

·      Must have access to reliable transportation;

·      Class 5 driver’s licence is an asset;

·      Must be punctual;

·      English language ability is required.
