Wage rate: $24.00 Hourly, for 40 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Evening.

Education: High School an asset

Experience: previous forklift experience and asset

Languages: Basic knowledge of English

Job duties:

· Operate forklift trucks and other material-handling equipment to safely load, unload, move, stack and position freight, pallets, products and materials within the company’s warehouse, yard and loading areas.

· Load and unload goods from transportation trucks, trailers and other vehicles while ensuring freight is handled safely and efficiently.

· Transport materials between receiving areas, storage locations, loading docks and designated staging areas using forklifts and other powered material-handling equipment.

· Stack, organize and retrieve pallets, cartons, freight and other materials in designated warehouse and storage areas while maintaining safe and orderly workspaces.

· Inspect incoming and outgoing freight for visible damage, verify quantities and labels, and report shortages, discrepancies or damaged goods to the appropriate supervisor.

· Assist with loading trailers and transportation vehicles by arranging freight to maximize safe and efficient use of available space.

· Follow established procedures for handling different types of freight and ensure materials are moved and stored without damage.

· Conduct routine pre-operation inspections of forklifts and material-handling equipment and report equipment defects, malfunctions or maintenance requirements to management.

· Operate forklifts and other equipment in accordance with workplace safety procedures, manufacturer instructions and applicable occupational health and safety requirements.

· Complete required paperwork, checklists, load documentation or electronic records related to receiving, shipping and movement of freight.

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods.

Essential skills: Working with others, problem solving, job task planning and organizing.

Other information: Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada.
