Westcoast Construction is a construction and project management firm that has been serving Western Canada, primarily Alberta, for over 12 years. Our company has extensive experience in various construction sectors, including oil and gas facilities, as well as industrial and commercial buildings. We are currently looking for an apprentice painter to join our team.
Job Title: Apprentice Painter

Job Type: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities:
-Read work instructions to determine the type and amount of materials required.
-Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, pressure washing, or steam cleaning.
-Remove old wallpaper and loose or peeling paint.
-Repair cracks, holes, and damaged areas on walls and surfaces.
-Mix and thin paint to achieve the required colour and consistency.
-Apply paint and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
-Apply finishes such as stain, varnish, enamel, lacquer, or fire-resistant coatings.
-Measure, cut, and install wallpaper or fabric wall coverings.
-Set up and take down scaffolding and work platforms.
-Follow safety procedures and keep work areas clean.
-Assist customers with colour selection when required.
-Provide basic cost estimates for painting projects.
Requirements:
Completion of secondary school is required;
Experience is an asset; however on-the-job training will be provided.
