We are currently seeking one experienced Automotive Technician to join our talented and passionate team in Calgary Alberta on a permanent full- time basis.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks including scheduled maintenance services like oil changes, tire rotation, wheel alignment, battery installations, headlight, and taillight installations.
  • Adjust, test, inspect and repair engines, steering and braking systems, drive trains, vehicle suspensions, electrical systems, and air-conditioning systems.
    Repair, rebuild and service specific parts.
    Conduct diagnostic procedures to identify the cause of automotive issues and make recommendations to fix the issue.
  • Advise customers on work, general vehicle conditions and future repair requirements.
    Inspect vehicles to ensure they meet provincial requirements for safety
    Maintain knowledge of current industry best practices
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Completion of secondary school, general education degree (GED) or vocational program.
    Completion of a related training program
    Minimum four (4) years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
    Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
    Understanding of the operation of standard shop machines.
  • Proficient in using automotive diagnostic equipment. hand and power tools.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles and various types of equipment, along with associated sub-systems.
  • Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as an essential part of a team.
  • Ability to test drive all vehicles repaired.  A valid drivers license is required.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
