Overview

Yamato Trading Co Ltd. is an importer and wholesaler of Japanese and other Asian food

products and restaurant supplies. They are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for their Vancouver team.

 

Permanent, Full time, $37.00/hour, 30-40 hours/week.

 

Duties:

·      Ensure the proper flow of products into and out of the warehouse;

·      Pick, ship, and receive orders;

·      Schedule and allocate work to employees to ensure orders will be picked, packed, and shipped in an efficient manner;

·      Ensure standard productivity and error standards are consistently met;

·      Conduct training of new hires when required;

·      Oversee and delegate tasks to a team of warehouse employees;

·      Conduct periodic checks of inventory levels, supplies, and warehouse equipment;

·      Oversee warehousing and storage of freight;

·      Oversee company policies and industry regulations are followed, ensure staff compliance with workplace safety;

·      Perform administrative, computer, and other clerical tasks;

·      Other general warehouse duties.

 

Requirements:

·      Completion of a college or university program in business, economics, supply chain, production or manufacturing management or related field is required;

·      At least 3 years of previous work experience in warehouses or related industry is required;

·      Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse or related industry is an asset;

·      Experience handling warehouse equipment (i.e., forklift, reach truck, counterbalance) is an asset;

·      English language skills are required;

·      Japanese language skills are an asset.
