Administer bedside and personal care
Administer medications
Assist clients in water (i.e. pool)
Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk
Change non-sterile dressings
Collect specimens
Feed or assist in feeding
Launder clothing and household linens
Mend clothing and linens
Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
Plan therapeutic diets and menus
Provide companionship
Provide personal care
Shop for food and household supplies
Prepare and serve nutritious meals

Heartwarming companionship. This service is for individuals that live alone and are feeling isolated or in a Facility.

You are not alone! We at ABC will provide experienced Companions who will provide companionship through personal visits. They will share a cup of tea, engage in conversation, play a game of scrabble and or go for walks. The goal is to assist with uplifting your loved one’s spirits. Our Companions are also able to accompany clients on outings or special events.

Respite Care Services in Vancouver

Are you the primary Caregiver for an Elderly Family member and need a break? Allow yourself to take a break so you don’t get mentally, emotionally and or physically drained. It is important to take time for yourself to regroup and re-energize.

We at ABC can offer you temporary relief, allowing you to take a much-needed break from caring for the demands of a sick, aging or disabled family member. We can offer Personal Support (bathing, dressing, med reminders) and Homemaking (cleaning, laundry, preparing meals) Companionship (go for walks, build rapport, play games, keep them safe). We offer you the opportunity to rest and relax knowing that your loved ones are safe, comfortable and are in good hands.

Personal Care

A range of human assistance services provided to individuals with disabilities and or chronic conditions.

We at ABC will assist the Client with activities and tasks that they normally would have done on their own. Assistance may be in the form of hands-on or cuing so that Client can feel independent. We understand the importance of our Clients feeling and looking their best at all times. Our experienced Caregivers will perform the following tasks: Personal Hygiene; grooming; dressing; oral care; medication remind; meal preparation; compression stockings; range of motion exercises; transferring and toileting. Assisting with all ADL’s.

Dementia /Alzheimer’s

Dementia is a chronic, declining change in a person’s overall mental ability. Dementia can have a series of symptoms that affect memory, behavior and a person’s ability to complete everyday activities.

We at ABC will work together with the family and Client to engage a care plan as to ensure they live with dignity and purpose in the comfort of their own home. Our Care Team will assist them in maintaining connections with people, places and memories that matter most to them. The Care Plan will include but are not limited to: Provide comfort; Perform daily routine; Calming Activities; Prepare healthy meals; Ease frustration and anger; Keep an organized, comfortable and safe environment and much more.

Shopping & Errands

Ease of mind when it comes to shopping!

ABC Staff can provide the following services so your loved one can have the independence at home. Go grocery shopping or accompany the Client to the store to shop; accompany Client to the Bank etc.

House Cleaning Services in Vancouver

Your home is your Castle!

ABC offers two types of Housekeeping. We have Light Housekeeping that is included with the Personal Care which includes: Cleaning washrooms; Cleaning kitchen; Laundry; Changing bed linens; Organize and assist in purging of expired items; take out garbage ad recycling. The other Housekeeping involves all of the above and including: Mopping floors; vacuuming; Dusting all furniture including picture frames; Spot cleaning walls.

Healthy nutritious prepared for you or with you. Do you have some favorites or would you like to try something New? Our Staff are able to accommodate all your dietary needs.

Vancouver Palliative Care Services

Palliative care is a type of Health Care for patients and families facing life-limiting illness.

We at ABC are able to be specific with your needs. When it comes to Palliative Care you want to be able to put your complete trust in your Caregivers. We will ensure that you are 100% comfortable and secure with your Caregiving Team. We will provide the emotional and mental support that you will require as you transition through the changes. Our goal is to put the Client’s desires, goals and decisions first, improve quality of life and provide pain and symptom control.

Mental Health Care

Mental Health Disorders, refer to a wide range of Mental Health conditions – disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior. Example of Mental Illness include depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behaviors.

We at ABC have experience caring for Clients with some of the above-mentioned disorders. We work closely with the Adult Liaison Case Manager to ensure you get the assistance you require.

Hospital Discharge

Time to come HOME!

We at ABC are able to assist with getting you settled at home after your hospital visit. We want to ensure that the transition from hospital to home is a seamless one. Our Caregiver can either meet you at the hospital or welcome you at home. ABC will co-ordinate Care Plan with Social Worker; ensure you have your new medication (either drop off Prescriptions or pick up meds); Liaise equipment delivery with Occupational Therapist; Grocery shop – to ensure your fridge is stocked up; ensure you home is ready for you; do laundry; make a meal. Assist you with a shower and get you prepared for bed. We are also available for an overnight stay if required.

Transportation

Need a Lift!

ABC Companions are available to accompany you to Medical Appointments, Shopping etc. via HandyDart or Taxi. Ask us for more information regarding Fare Savers and HandyDart registration.

Medication Management

Miss medications no more!

ABC staff will ensure that your prescribed medication is given to you on time. All medication will be blister packed and labelled with the time to be taken for ease of use.
