Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Wage: $19.00 per hour

Hours of Work: 30–40 hours per week

Start Date: As soon as possible

 

About the Position

 

We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and experienced Child Caregiver to provide attentive care and support for our child in a private household setting. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the child’s safety, well-being, and development while maintaining a nurturing and positive environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Supervise and care for the child in the employer’s residence.

Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.

Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, and daily routines.

Plan and organize age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.

Support the child’s emotional, social, and developmental growth.

Escort the child to and from school, appointments, and activities as required.

Maintain a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment.

Perform light housekeeping duties related to child care, including laundry, tidying play areas, and cleaning up after meals.

Follow instructions provided by parents regarding schedules, discipline, and special care requirements.

Monitor the child’s well-being and report any concerns to the employer.

 

Qualifications

 

Completion of secondary school is required.

Previous experience caring for children is preferred.

First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset.

Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Demonstrated reliability, patience, honesty, and professionalism.

Ability to work independently and responsibly in a private household.

 

Employment Conditions

 

Permanent, full-time position.

Competitive wage of $19.00 per hour.

Vacation pay and statutory holidays in accordance with Ontario employment standards.

Overtime pay where applicable under provincial legislation.

 

Work Setting

 

Employer’s private residence.

Non-smoking work environment preferred.

Optional accommodation may be available at no charge on a live-in basis; however, accommodation is not a condition of employment.
