Overview
Job title: In-home caregiver.
Terms of employment: This job is for a full-time position (between 30 and 40 hours per week). Flexible / Split shift work schedule is required. Weekend work may be required. Job starts as soon as possible.
Language requirement: French or English.
Salary: Wage offered is between $17 and $19 per hour. Future wage adjustments will be made when the First Quartile wage rate change for this field of work in Quebec.
Location: SiRe… lives in Côte St-Luc, Quebec. The home is situated in a residential neighbourhood, school and parks are nearby. The city bus is easily accessible and is close by (#104 & #138). The major intersection is Côte Saint Luc rd. and Cavendish boul.
Duties may include:
1- This job is to help with the care of three children, ages 8, 5, and 1. One of the children’s parents suffers from a chronic medical condition, and so family requires additional support at home. Care is not for the children’s parent
1- Supervision of children when parents are not at home, and take the child to and from appointments
2- Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings to provide amusement and exercise
3- Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
4- Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
5- Plan, prepare and serve meals for children. Kitchen clean-up is also required
6- Change diapers, bathe, dress, and feed youngest child
7- General housework that will include doing, laundry and some ironing.
8- Dusting rooms to ensure a clean environment
Qualifications:
1- Must have completed at minimum Canadian equivalent of secondary school education
2- Must have at least one year of work-related experience as a caregiver
3- Must be dependable, hardworking, independent, and able to manage the job without supervision
