Overview
In-home Companion/Caregiver needed for elderly couple for McGregor family. $20.00 – $25.00per hour for 35-hour work week. Two days off per week on Saturday and Sunday. Job hours are 12pm-7pm with a mid-day break. Minimum 6 months of relevant working professional in home care experience required. Equivalent of a Canadian High School diploma. Overtime occasionally may be needed and would be paid at time and a half. Job located in New Hamburg, ON. English language spoken and written is necessary. Work to take place in employer’s home.
Skills required: Providing care and companionship, administering personal care such as aid in ambulation, bathing, personal hygiene, and help with dressing and undressing, Plan and prepare meals, assist in feeding, perform routine health-related duties such as assisting in the administration of medications. Perform routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes and making beds etc. Preparing and serving healthy meals. Accompany to appointments as needed.
Reading, good communication, decision making skills and organization are essential.
