Overview
In-home Companion/Caregiver needed for special needs young adult male for Lee family. $21.00-$23.00 per hour depending on experience for a 44-hour work week. 2 days off per week on Saturday/Sunday. Minimum 6 months of relevant working professional in home care experience required. Equivalent of a Canadian High School diploma is required. Overtime occasionally may be needed and would be paid at time and a half. Job located in Toronto, ON (Avenue Rd & Wilson). English language spoken and written is necessary. Work to take place in employer’s home.
Skills required: Providing care and companionship, administering personal care such as aid in a bathing, personal hygiene, and help with dressing and undressing, Plan and prepare meals, assist in feeding, perform routine health-related duties such as assisting in the administration of medications. Perform routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes and making beds etc. Accompany to appointment as needed. Client non-verbal.
Reading, good communication, decision making skills and organization are essential.
