Tenure: Permanent employment, Full time, overtime available

Salary: $20 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

Work Schedule: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime

Accommodation: Option to live in the private home of employer

Job requirements

Language: English

Education: At least Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Credentials: First Aid certificate required; CPR certificate and Nursing or related healthcare education related to pediatrics are an advantage; Planning, Patient care, Occupational Health and Safety certificates are an asset

Experience: At least 7 months to 1 year work experience in Child care or a related field, experience in pediatrics is an advantage

Specific Tasks/Skills:

•         Watch and take care of children at home.

•         Accompany children to school and assist on medical appointments and family trips.

·         Provide a variety of childcare services (feeding them, dressing them, bathing them, etc.).

·         Plan, lead, and guide activities throughout the day, such as reading, physical activity, and creative expression through art and song

•         Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals to children.

•         Keep a record of each child’s daily activities and health status as needed.

•         Monitor and supervise children’s activities (meals, naps, etc.) as directed by the parents

•         Ensure the children’s safety, social development, and emotional well-being.

•         Perform light housekeeping duties and ensure home or play environment is kept sanitary and implement a cleaning schedule
