Job Title:  Dedicated Home Child Care Provider (NOC 44100)

Employer:  Lin Family – Private Household

Location of work:  Burnaby BC Deer Lake area

Salary: $21.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Term: One (1) Year Contract (with possibility of renewal)

Job Description: Our family is seeking an energetic and nurturing caregiver to provide full-time care for our two children, aged 3 years and an infant under 12 months. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, stimulating, and educational environment within our home.

Key Duties:

  • Infant & Toddler Care: Supervise and care for an infant (under 12 months) and a toddler (3 years); manage daily routines including feeding, diapering, and nap schedules.
  • Educational Engagement: Organize and lead age-appropriate activities, such as reading, crafts, and outdoor play, to support children’s cognitive and social development.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for the children; maintain sterilized bottles and clean feeding areas.
  • Follow Schedule: Follow schedule and instructions given by parents for optimum care and wellbeing of the children.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain a safe environment; and monitor children’s emotional well-being and physical health.
  • Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning tasks directly related to the children’s care, such as tidying play areas and laundering children’s clothing/linens.
  • Travel: Accompany children to outdoor activities or other appointments as required.

Language of work:  English – ability to listen, read, write and speak fluently with strong communication skills.

Education: Minimum Secondary school diploma. Completion of post-secondary education or specialized training in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Pedagogy, or a related field focused on child development and the nurturing of young children is considered a significant asset.

Skills & Experience: Minimum 12 months of experience related to caring and nurturing young children; preferably experience working in early childhood environment.

Security: Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check.

Assets: Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certification is a strong asset.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Vacation: 10 days of paid vacation per year (2 weeks).
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 8 hrs/day or 40 hrs/week per BC standards.
  • Relocation Support: Employer covers one-way transportation to the work location and return transportation to the worker’s permanent residence at the end of the term.
  • Health: Private health insurance provided until BC MSP eligibility is met.
