Overview
In-home Companion/Caregiver needed for elderly couple(Rakowski family). $21.00-$23.00 per hour depending on experience for a 40-hour work week. 2 days off per week on Saturday/Sunday. Hours 11:00 am-7:00 PM. Minimum six months of relevant working professional eldercare experience required. Equivalent of a Canadian High School diploma is required. Overtime occasionally may be needed and would be paid at time and a half. Job located in Toronto (Hazelton & Davenport). English language spoken and written is necessary. Work to take place in employer’s home.
Skills required: Providing care and companionship, administering bedside and personal care such as aid in ambulation, bathing, personal hygiene, and help with dressing and undressing, Plan and prepare meals, assist in feeding, perform routine health-related duties such as assisting in the administration of medications. Perform routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes and making beds etc. Accompany to appointments as needed.
Reading, good communication, decision making skills and organization are essential.
